Mass use of wiki will be when people are interesed in sharing knowledge without a competitive or individualistic attitude. This can only be attained when people are really interested in knowledge.
We can really say that people is starting to use wiki in large numbers like like with [Wikipedia]. The only really necesary step left is the ability to have a wiki about [anything]. [everything2] comes to mind, but they are not wiki, [kuro5hin] also is a similar project.
One possible solution would be to do something like what [wakachan] does. there are already projects that link wikis.
Now if any wiki site could integrate easily (the wikiwiki way easy) we would be done. Actually it may be stated that, because every wiki can link to anywiki, and because any wikizen can link wikis together, the *really* last step left is the [UserInterfase].
What about a wiki client? Anyway, wikis will see uprise when [Google] has a special wiki search (like the image search they have right now).
Meanwhile, we still need a [WikiAboutAnything]. Any wiki mantainer care to set up one?
Since it is specificaly about miscelaneous topics the load would not be THAT bad, would it?
Hi! Who put this here? I coined the term
CommunityWiki:MassUseOfWiki, so I'm surprised to see it used here, by somebody I don't know.
In the edit comment, you wrote that this could stand for deletion.
Personally, I would rather see relocation. On
CommunityWiki:DreamsOfWiki and
CommunityWiki:WikiProliferation, there is space for this specific thought.
However, more to this wiki, we have the ArgumentGraphs, and we should likely have the IdeaGraph as well, since (I believe) it's similarly inevitable.
I strongly encourage you to write on
CommunityWiki. I hesitate to carry on the conversation here, because I would want it to contribute to the CW
PageDatabase.
If
the CommunityWiki:UseRealNames policy is a problem, let me know; I'm sure
FermentWiki wouldn't mind hosting the conversation; It seems the appropriate place for it, if not CW or MB.
